Mission Sunday: Dr Philip Lyn

Sunday Septem­ber 13^th is Mis­sion Sunday, and our guest speaker is Philip Lyn, Senior Pas­tor of Sky­line SIB. He’ll be speak­ing on Meek­ness and Majesty: the Gos­pel of the King­dom.

Dr Philip Lyn returns to KBC on Sunday 13 Septem­ber to share on our Mis­sion Sunday. His emphasis this time will be on serving the poor in trans­form­a­tion, bring­ing the Gos­pel in signs and won­ders and link­ing with the mar­ket­place for­part­ner­ship. Philip is the Senior Pas­tor of Sky­line SIB, in Malay­sia. He is also a med­ical doc­tor, trained at Oxford, did bib­lical stud­ies in Lon­don and cur­rently works as a bivoc­a­tional pas­tor of a city church. He leads an unusual team of pas­tors who are fully bivoc­a­tional, who com­bine min­istry in the work­place and local church as one and the same calling.

The church meets 24/​7 in a fi ve-​​star resort hotel that evan­gel­ises the city and works with the rural poor. It is mis­sional in cul­ture, has a disciple-​​making vis­ion and coaches mar­ket­place lead­ers to live out King­dom prin­ciples for com­munity trans­form­a­tion. He was saved through the work of mis­sion­ar­ies as a youth, revived on an OM sum­mer cru­sade in Europe as a uni­ver­sity stu­dent, and spir­itu­ally tutored over the years in the UK and in Asia. He has also been involved in lead­ing national prayer con­fer­ences in Malay­sia, taken spir­itual retreats and spoken at work­place sem­inars in Asia, Aus­tralia and the UK. He is mar­ried to Nancy and they have three won­der­ful chil­dren, one of whom was a mir­acle child whom God raised from the dead.
