KBFC — Season 2010 Registrations

To compete, players need to complete two registration forms and pay the required registration fees. One form is for our club, the other is a requirement of the Association (BFQ) to which we belong.

Age requirements:
Men’s: players need to be at least 15 years of age
Women’s: players need to be at least 14 years of age

Ability requirements:
Teams are selected on ability. The coaches assess player’s ability following registration and players are assigned to an appropriate team. We do try to keep friends together but for the integrity of the competition and consistent with our values of striving to be the best, being with ‘friends’ is not always possible.

Commitment Expected:
We expect players to play for the whole season and also expect regular attendance at training. To play a complete payment of fees by the end of April is also expected. In some circumstances players can play for part of a season and we also look for some players who are available on a casual basis as teams have needs. Please talk to the Registrar or one of the Coaches if these ‘casual circumstances’ describe you. Casual players, after paying an initial registration amount, have a small cost to pay on the occasions they play. (This is instead of the seasonal charge.)

Training information:
We believe that in order to be our best, we need to make every effort to train. Personal circumstances may not always make this possible. When these circumstances arise, we expect players to talk with their coach. In the event of persistent rain, training is usually called off. Coaches will advise teams of this through SMS by 6:30.

We train at Akuna Oval, Fig Tree Pocket each Thursday evening (wk 3 February-September) from 7 – 9pm.

Playing information:
Our home ground is at Sprenger St Fig Tree Pocket. Games are usually scheduled for 1pm or 3pm. Game details are published on the BFQ website (www.bfq.org.au) and also advised by coaches at training and through their established communication channels.

We play against teams in SE Qld. The greatest distance travelled is Caboolture to the north, Beenleigh to the south and Victoria Point to the east. Players are expected to arrive at the ground at least 30 minutes before play unless some other arrangement is made with the coach. Teams share the responsibility of setting up or pulling down nets and posts.

Club Strip:
Two strips are available for the Women’s team: one team plays with a strip that is predominantly blue, the other jersey set is mainly white. Three strips exist for the Men’s teams; white, blue, and blue & white. All teams play with dark blue shorts and either white socks (white jersey) or blue socks (predominantly blue jerseys). Socks and shorts are available from the club for purchase.

Player Duties:
Following registration, players need to keep in regular communication with their coach and fellow players. The best way is to attend every training session and game possible and to advise the coach as soon as possible of occasions when not available. Each team member throughout the season will be asked to help with some team duties e.g. washing drink bottles, cleaning jerseys, and assisting keeping our home ground in good order.

Representative Opportunities:
The BFQ has processes to select a representative men’s and women’s team to compete at State Titles against other Christian representative teams from other associations. These processes usually involve selectors identifying players in game play from the commencement of the BFQ pre-season. The State titles are usually held mid-season. Following State Titles a state team is selected to play at National titles usually held early October. On the Registration Form you are asked to identify if you are interested in being considered.

Forms to be completed with the deposit of $100:

+ KBFC registration form
+ BFQ registration form (available from www.bfq.org.au)

Payment Options:
The preferred payment is by EFT or cash at a training night. Please speak to our Treasurer about the EFT option. Remember if using EFT — it is VERY important that you clearly indicate or have evidence of who is making the payment. Cheques are another method of payment and need to be made out to Kenmore Baptist Football. Please ask for a receipt when making a payment.
