Senior Pastor

Ric Benson

Ric Benson

Ric has been Senior Pastor of Kenmore Baptist Church since 1989 and has led the church through major transition from being a mid-sized single-pastor, conservative, local community church, to a large, multi-staff contemporary church. He is married to Anne, and has two children, Robyn and David, both married and committed Christians.
Ric is currently National Director of Church Dynamics — the church consultancy arm of Campus Crusade for Christ. He is also a Bible College lecturer, conference speaker, trainer-educator, counsellor and consultant to many organisations, having ministered to over 200 different churches and most denominations over the last 20 years.

A keen musician in brass and percussion, and sports-person with a passion for distance running, he also has a great love of the Australian outdoors, with a keen interest in four-wheel driving.

Ric came to faith at 15 years of age through the Morwell Salvation Army in Gippsland, Victoria, and served in that church until 1979 when he and Anne, both in their early thirties, left their school teaching profession to join Campus Crusade for Christ, as staff workers, and then later added to their responsibilities pastoral oversight of a local church.

He has a God-given passion and great drive to see Kenmore Baptist Church become a community of God’s people, committed to glorifying Him by making disciples who will celebrate the life of God, cultivate personal growth in Christ, care about one another in Christ, and communicate Christ to the world. He has committed the church to assist and resource other churches so that together they might significantly add to the Kingdom of God.
