Pastor Evangelism and Community Outreach

David Benson - Evangelism

David Benson — Evangelism

Dave Benson has been working for KBC as Pastor of Evangelism and Community Outreach since February 2009. Having previously worked for KBC (2002−2006) as a youth pastor, this new role is an exciting challenge. His position is about equipping, empowering, and aligning each member and ministry at KBC to more effectively live and share their faith in Jesus, so that those outside KBC may get a taste of the Kingdom of God. It’s a broad role, especially with half his time dedicated to working outside the church – speaking engagements, training, and the like!

A key part of his role, also, is heading up Logos – KBC’s apologetics ministry – which looks at how better to explain the Christian faith to a culture that is often post-Christian in attitude (“we’ve been there, done that”), but pre-Christian in understanding (“who’s this Adam guy, anyway, and is Christ Jesus’ surname or something?”). In terms of Dave’s personal life, he has been married to Nikki for a decade (bumping up the national stats!) – she is an Occupational Therapist and has the kindest way especially with older folks who have been through life-changing events like a stroke. They enjoy running and hiking together, keeping active in general, and travelling the world whenever time and budget allows! Dave also enjoys photography, and motorcycling, but not at the same time!
